Chiba Masashi Sensei Kendo Seminar

Dear Kendoka,

I am contacting you on behalf of the British Kendo Association to let you know about the following event.

An exciting new seminar with one of the most well known Japanese sensei - Chiba Masashi Sensei, 8th Dan Hanshi - will take place at the University of Sussex, Brighton, in Britain on July 3rd, 4th & 5th 2009. 

The event will also host the British Open Taikai (which is open to all EKA and IKF affiliated members) and a grading to 5th Dan level.

Chiba Sensei has been All Japan Kendo Champion three times and Shihan (Emeritus) at Keishicho dojo (the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Kendo Dojo).

The seminar is limited to 60 places, but attendance at the seminar is not required to enter the British Open Taikai.

Programme:

·Friday 3rd July - 10.00am : 18.00pm - Seminar

·Saturday 4th July - 09.00am : 18.00pm - Seminar

·Sunday 5th July - 09.00am : 13.00pm - British Open Taikai

·Sunday 5th July - 14.00pm Grading to 5th Dan

The British Open Taikai is open to all EKA and IKF affiliated members.  The Taikai consists of 5 individual competitions for individuals in the following catagories:

·Male competitors aged 18 years of age and above

·Competitors aged 9 to 12

·Competitors  aged 13 to 15

·Competitors  aged 16 to17 years of age

·And finally for ladies aged 18 years and above

but bookings can also be made online (see below).  Applications must be received no later than one month before the grading date.
