Training for teenagers and adults

Training & Trial Training

When?

Wednesdays & Fridays, 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM
Only during school semesters (please check dates)

Where?

Gym St. Jakobsstrasse 115, double gym of the business school, near the Basel Süd motorway exit

Who?

Members and guests – visitors from other clubs are always welcome (please register in advance using the contact form)

Training process

15 min warm-up
45 min. basic exercises
Afterwards combat exercises
On the last Friday of the month: Katas

Trial training

Teenagers & adults (15 years and older): on the first training day of the month
Children: possible at any time

equipment

For the trial, long sweatpants and a T-shirt are sufficient; training takes place barefoot. A shinai (bamboo sword) will be provided.

To get started you need:

Shinai (from CHF 40.-) & Bokken for Katas (from CHF 25.-)
After a few months: traditional clothing (Hakama & Keiko-Gi, from CHF 100.-)
After about one year: Armor (from CHF 350-400, lasts several years)
Children and young people can rent armor.

Cost

The trial training is free for the first month. After that, the training costs CHF 120 per semester (for trainees) or CHF 240 per semester.

Summer training

During the summer holidays (approximately July 1st – August 15th) we train in the gymnasium of the Bäumlihofgymnasium on the border with Riehen.

Equipment

Costs

The first 2–3 trial training sessions are free of charge (you can start at any time during the school semester). After that, training costs £60 per semester.
